Wellington Holiday, January 2005 At last we reached Wellington and stayed with Belinda's mother in her new house. It is certainly a step up from the old house with a great view to the north on a fine day, and we did get a few of those while we were there. The first picture is taken on the deck of the new house on a beautiful evening. We later went into town to have a fabulous Thai meal with our friends Ian and Lois. Good food, good wine, good company; what more could you want!
Caitlyn does not like to miss out so she got dressed up to pose for a photo. Cute isn't she, well sometimes anyway. More often she is the rough one but below it is Jamie's turn for a rough and tumble on the lawn. One morning we went up to the Karori cemetery and had lunch on the lawn. The plaque beside Belinda is for her father, Nana and brother whose ashes are buried there. It was a beautiful day and a lovely peaceful spot for lunch. The rose gardens were at their best.
We were able to spend plenty of time with the grandparents this year. Below left Jamie and Caitlyn sit on the deck with their Nana Barbara and on the right with their Nana Verna and Grandpop. Grandparents and grandchildren go so well together, in short bursts. The difference for parents is they have them for long bursts !!
This week Jamie goes back to school and Caitlyn starts at a new daycare centre five days a week. Belinda is returning to the workforce part-time as a receptionist for Crockers, a property/strata management and realty company. Plenty happening this year, we are looking forward to the challenges. Bye for now, hope you all have a great 2005. Belinda, Gary, Jamie & Caity |
