Gary ended up redundant following the sale of Heath Lambert so we decided to take a break and go to Wellington for a week. Being the middle of winter Mt Ruapehu had plenty of snow on it, so as we left Turangi in minus 6 degrees, we decided to go up to Whakapapa for a quick visit. The snow was still frozen on top when we arrived and Jamie said we should go back to the snowy mountain when it was warmer. After a quick play we headed on to Wellington.
It was mostly fine but very cold in Wellington and the kids had a chance to catch up with their grandparents. Uncle Mike gave them a ride in a cement mixer truck - the photo of them in the cab below is Mike with his two children, Jessica & Stephen, as well as Jamie and Caity.
Back home, end of the school holidays and we return to the usual routine including swimming on Saturday. Jamie is doing well and can float as well as do some basic strokes, he will be swimming soon. His little sister is pretty confident in the water as well. The pictures on this page are taken with a new camera following the theft of our old one. They should be a bit clearer as the previous camera was 5 years old. Speaking of which Jamie is only a couple of weeks away from being 5 and next week goes for his first trial run at school for a morning. Don't they grow up quick!!! See you soon, no doubt with a few pics of the birthday boy. The Young Family :-) |
