Pool
refurbishment
|
The pool was completed just in time for the fabulous
weather we experienced during Auckland anniversary weekend. Photo
below left shows the condition the pool was in when we purchased the
property. The previous owners were ordered by Auckland City
Council to keep the pool empty until the fencing complied. We
replaced the trellis you can see in the first photo (behind the trees)
with a brustic fence and also added a glass fence between the house and
pool. The Council signed it off and refurbishment got
underway. Photo below right shows the pool after resurfacing. |

Filling the pool with the garden hose took 35
hours. In the photo below left, Belinda is paddling after it had
been filling for around 12 hours. The pool is around 9M long and
slopes from 0.9M at the shallow end to 1.9M at the deep end. |

The children couldn't wait to test it out, even though
the water temperature is currently only 24 degrees. Jamie invited
a friend over and the three of them had a blast playing in the pool all
afternoon. |

| We bought Jamie a remote control speed boat for his
birthday last August and he was excited to finally get it in the
water. He even gave Caitlyn's Barbie a ride around the pool on the
front of it.
Jamie and Caitlyn have been attending swimming lessons at a local
college during the school holidays and they are progressing well. |
