7 June 1999

4 June 1999 - Belinda's last day at Enterprise Staff Consultants. Now officially a "house executive", with an eight week rest before our little boy is due. Pictured above right is Belinda with Justine, the "Enterprise Reception Team" for the past eight months. For the last day there Belinda had a farewell lunch at Cal Neva with a group of Enterprise people.(Pictures censored!) Although it is fair to note that this is the first farewell lunch Belinda has had where she is still perfectly sober at the end of the day.

The thought of no longer having to rise at 6am and get ready for work is particularly appealing at this time as winter approaches, not to mention the hassle of frequent loo visits and loss of sleep due to a sore back. Plans for lunches with friends are already well advanced while Gary is threatens to get a "things to do today" list organised.

Gary has two interests to keep him occupied, a greenhouse and a wine cellar.

The greenhouse occupies a corner of the front lawn, which has the added advantage of reducing the amount of lawn mowing required (not that there was a lot, it only took 10 minutes). This weekend the floor was laid in concrete pavers and a few shelves are about to be constructed. The intention is to grow a variety of things hydroponically.

Meanwhile under the stairs in a nice cool space the wine rack has been set up. Ably assisted by Belinda the wines have been sorted and labelled. This proved to be useful as a couple of wines were found hidden in the boxes which had reached their drink by date. We will be ensuring this is carried out - well Gary will have to do most of it while Belinda is carrying the baby. At this stage the cellar contains a modest 90 bottles, but there is plenty of room to expand if finances allow. Four bottles of bubbly are included in the total, awaiting a celebration in a couple of months!
